We talking about 9 wins against our own Division, the AFC East, and NFC West? I'd be happy if we hit 7-9 again

as a rivera critic, I would actually not be upset with 9-7 when I look at our schedule and roster for next season. so it depends on how we got to that 9-7.

I'm sure there are performance expectations. JR was serious and hung Rivera out over the edge of a high window for a week. My guess is if we miss the playoffs without a valid excuse (like lose cam to injury or something) he is toast

ehhh it would depend. i don't think a coach should ever be fired after a 9 win season

He'll be kept. No reason to pay TWO coaches.

Wouldn't there be a promotion from within? Like the OC or DC? That way he doesn't have to pay two coaches?

Playoffs or bust, and he should also need back to back winning seasons to secure his job.

Rivera needs to have 3 straight playoff appearances to prove our last 2 below average seasons were a fluke.

With a new GM (other than Beane), Ron almost certainly has to make the playoffs next year to stick around. If the new GM sticks with a non-playoff Rivera too long, then he could crash and burn with him.
