Rivera needs to have 3 straight playoff appearances to prove our last 2 below average seasons were a fluke.

With a new GM (other than Beane), Ron almost certainly has to make the playoffs next year to stick around. If the new GM sticks with a non-playoff Rivera too long, then he could crash and burn with him.

We play the AFC East and NFC West next year? Out of those 8 teams only 3 (NE, SF and Sea) had better records than us. We tied Miami and had better records than the other 4. If we get 9-7 and the playoffs, RR stays. 9-7 no playoffs, RR goes. 10 wins, RR stays no matter if we make playoffs or not. Anything less than 9-7, he's gone.
