Zod I love this place.

Where else but the interwebz can fans of a team complain about the level of fandom needed to be a fan. I guess there needs to be some sort of manual or some such. So we all would know the rules on how to be a proper fan.

Nah. that wouldn't be any fun. Nevermind.

apparently truecatsfan (i thought i'd show him how to spell it right) is the guy to go to.

Feel free to disagree, but if you watched the video and saw how the players reacted to Rivera and then saw all the tweets from the players today regarding the news that Rivera would be returning, you might think differently.

none of that means anything if they don't win next year. if they aren't playing lights out then all that was just a bunch of words and rivera's motivational skills will be shown as being insufficient.

they want to show their love for the coach? win games.

Oh I agree, I was just pointing out the fact that the team seems to gel really together off the field and with the coaching staff so that may be a reason for keeping Rivera because they (JR, whoever the hell is making decisions) feel that it is easier that Rivera can learn to actually coach the team as good as he controls the emotional/continuity side of the team.

funny how i was called one of the most blind homers for most the season.

You usually are a blind homer.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yes, I watched the video, and I follow the same guys on Twitter, so I saw those too.

My point wasn't that Rivera didn't have support. My point was that support for an embattled coach, especially when you end the year on a winning streak, isn't anything unusual.

Just recently, look at the support Raheem Morris got in Tampa Bay. You had players openly questioning him being replaced with Schiano, to the extent that a couple of them had to be shipped out of town. The support of players is nice and it's heartwarming, but that isn't enough if you aren't a good coach (and I'm speaking hypothetically; not saying Rivera isn't a good coach).

Ok, let's be real here. It all comes down to two things. Record and performance. So imo, Rivers needs to win more than he loses right off the bat. So if the players want to keep Rivera, they had better come out showing it.

Win or tie every quarter of the season, be in playoff contention, and look good doing so would go a long way in Rivera's favor.

Losing well fought games, and playing well, only gets you so far.

Much like I agreed with Rayzor, I also agree with you. However, finding a coach that all players mutually love is pretty hard to find. That's why I trust Rivera to due diligence and start progressing as a coach.

I think what pisses me off about your stance on our current situation (the team) is that I feel like you have betrayed yourself; and in effect the die hards such as myself. It's almost as if someone offered you a sip from the stupid cup, and you chugged it.

I see what you're point of view is in its entirety. You are correct (as usual) in a lot of your analysis, but i think that you have the blinders on at the moment... And it's unlike you. Sorry for lashing out at you, I just expect more from you than the average poster here.

i'm not a blind homer. i have faith when i see a reason for it. when i cease seeing that reason, then i lose faith.

i believed at the beginning of the season that we'd continue the progress made at the end. i thought that we'd pick the offense up where we left off. i thought we'd see rivera figuring out how to manage a game. i saw no reason to believe that. in fact i said that we'd have a top 15 defense by the end of the year and potentially a top 10 defense to match our top 5 offense. and people laughed and for most of the season they had a reason to. in fact one clown kept on bringing it up over and over trying to rub it in my face under the impression it actually bothers me when i'm wrong when i'm actually quite used to it and am surprised only in those rare moments it sounds like i know what i'm talking about...but anyway...

what i didn't count on was the coaching staff going full moron on us for most of the season. i didn't count on the clusterf*ck the season became and what i saw was a team that couldn't close games. players were screwing up. the coaches were calling plays in that essentially gave the game away.

the end result being the same as many other seasons before. we don't show up until the end of the season when it ceases to matter except in giving the players and fans a reason to believe that next year things will be better and coaches another year to get a paycheck.

i loved seeing the wins. i love seeing the team get along and supporting their coach. i'm just not buying what they are trying to sell right now. i've seen old john fox era 2007-2009 v.2 and i'm not happy.

i want to see true commitment. i want to see accountability. i want to see a culture change and i don't want to wait another few years to see it. i'm not going to. i'm tired of the same ol same ol. i'll believe it's a new era when they show me it is by winning games early and often. i'll see it when we get in the playoffs. i'll see it when we have back to back winning seasons. until they do, i'm not drinking the koolaid or putting on those homer goggles again.

I figuratively went to Panther Preschool, Panther Elementary School, Panther Middle School, Panther High School and Panther University.

My grades were average at best but I am Panther born and Panther bred, and when I die, I'll be a Panther dead.

You guys can shitake all over this team and the FO all you want. I am a proud, loyal fan and called for Rivera's head, called for DLo to be cut...I can complain with the best of you. But a decision has been made and I for one will support it until circumstances dictate otherwise. If the players of this team are behind Rivera, I am behind Rivera.

I would hope that the "Huddle Family" I enjoyed so much last off-season can get past this. This site went from being more fun than free porn to a constant pissing contest.

Let's get back to what we do best...hating on Alejandro, Kilgo and Pickles.

And tittays.
