I realize that Charlie Casserly is not necessarily the supreme authority of all that is NFL, but he just said on NFL network that "Ross is widely considered to be the frontrunner for the Panther job."

Anyone know how often Casserly is right?

by standard JR operating procedure a second interview usually means they are going to hire the guy, I imagining that this would probably be the case unless they have someone else on their list that they still want to look at first.

It's the Rooney Rule. The only question in the second interview was "Hey I forgot to ask, you're a minority, right?"

I'd prefer Genttlemen, but Ross wouldn't bother me.

Hopefully we have someone before the end of the week because the east-west game is next week.

Maybe the reason Ross hasn't been hired elsewhere is because he let it be known in interviews that no decision would be made quickly while he explored other opportunities. In other words, maybe he and Accorsi had a good feel he would end up with the Panthers' job, so he wouldn't commit to someone else before he got a chance to talk to us.

It'd be nice to have a GM sooner than later

Gettleman's background is a little more diverse, and obviously has more experience, so I've kind of taken a liking to him as my favorite as well.

Ross is still a great candidate though and wouldn't be upset about the hire.

Seems like it would be a good hire, second interviews are always a good sign

If nothing else it means they have made all their 1st interviews

Yeah Gettleman's resume is pretty impressive, all the teams he has been a part of were extremely successful in those years.

Well CSR didn't do anything, it was a poster/blogger on CSR. CSR is nothing more than a fan site run by SB-Nation. They run a site for every professional sporting team. I visit Talking Chop for the Braves, for example. It's nothing more than a glorified message board.
