Not sure other than causing a self evaluation. I haven't taken my guns out of a locked case since '98. I have nothing against gun ownership. Some of these automatic weapons are a bit extreme. I just have no use for them any longer.

You know automatics are illegal, right?

Lots of sig fans here. Carried one for 7 years, a p226. Never failed me once. Dead dick accurate. Was a nail driver at 25 yards.

The 2022 is hard to beat at the price.

15 rounds, SIG quality, roughly 400$

Very good price. Back when I could get the "blue" discount I was buying brand new glocks with 3 high cap mags for 290.

For what's involved to get one they essentially are. And I doubt the person I quoted knows anyone that has one

Pay the tax and have the sheriff sign off on it. It's not exactly hard, just expensive.

Like I said, to each his own. I'm not judging anybody in this thread. I believe in our 2nd amendment rights. I'm just not in need of them any more in my house.

I did not compare being a father with owning a gun. I said the feelings were similar that I was part of something bigger. Just because your reading comprehension does not go above a 4th grade level, dont get on me about my mental stability..

I would say that the first thing a person ought to get prior to buying a firearm is a passing grade on a mandatory firearm safety course and mental health check plus a prior felon check. I know that a lot of you will find this somehow impinges on your " freedoms" but tuff s hit. Its my opinion. It comes from too many idiots running around my neighborhood shooting stuff up at all hours of the day and night and Ive had bullets whiz by me on two seperate occassions as well as had shotgun pellets rain down near me. People are stupid and some of them shouldnt be allowed access to lethal weapons. Thats why we license drivers in this state and you periodically need to renew that license.

I remember eating my first burrito. It was like this transcendental moment where I realized that I was part of something bigger. It made me question faith, reality, and life all in one moment as the cheesey queso dripped down my dimpled chin. Imagine the joy one has when a child is born. Now imagine that child is a burrito and you cover them in pica de gallo and eat them.

Yeah, ride out with that talk TomCat...

SCP, I can understand & respect your decision, people do change their minds. My kids are 3 & 5, and into everything. To say I am worried about it is an understatement. I did not bring the forearm into my house without having a safe, which is now mounted to the wall inside my closet. When my son gets about 7, I plan on teaching him to shoot. More to take away the curiosity, if he knows, is educated on proper use & handling, Im hoping that the ooh factor will be gone. I figure if I take him shooting, then should the day ever come when he has friends over & they are intrigued by them then he will be smart enough to say "No, not ooh, those are guns and we're not touching them". At least that is what I am hoping for...

That's exactly how I planned to do it. I just changed my mind on the whole situation.

Anyway, sorry. My intent was not to derail the thread.
