Long story short:

Got a blue Cam Newton jersey for Christmas from my parents. Wore it around the house for the Saints game. Have not worn it since. Did spill a little bit of salsa or guac on it so I decided to wash it two nights ago. Cold water. Did not dry it.

Pulled it out and the seem around the left shoulder had dissolved and started to fall apart all the way down to the logo.

The jersey was not fake and was purchased at Omega Sports (Arboretum) two weeks before Christmas. I've worn it maybe twice around the house.

I guess that there is a very small chance the washer somehow ripped it, but I've used the washer at least 1,000x and never had ANY issue what so ever.

I'm taking it back Saturday. Hopefully they will let me exchange it. If not I'm gonna talk to Nike. Not they type of quality/lifespan for an article of clothing that cost $100.

Anyone else have any issues like this? I read some of yall have bought new jerseys this year.

Those jerseys cost Nike like $5 to make(if that) + what ever the NFL licenses is, so it's not a true $100 product.

I had issues with a Kasay Jersey I bought at the team store once. It was Reebok $80 and the Paint was peeling off abnormally soon. Like the second wash. I was working like a dog and couldn't get to the team store between 10am and 4pm Monday-Friday or whatever so I just let it go. As I've gotten older I enjoy the stupid expensive polo shirts more anyways. They are appropriate attire in far more situations.

I was given a panthers t-shirt from nfl.com...washed once, inside out, and the front logo is peeling off... Pretty disappointing.

Definitely not as pissed as I would be if it were a jersey.

the reebok stuff seems like it was better made. i have a steve smith premier (more or less equivalent to what nike calls "limited" now) and it's survived years of beer spills, sweatlogged august/september games at the stadium, and beatings from the washing machine.

Always washed mine by hand. Too expensive to trust with a washer.

You gotta buy you one of those lingerie bags to put it in before it goes in the washer. I use my wife's to wash my jerseys.
