i dont trust rivera with this decision.

Doubt he would still be here if there was not some belief he has learned from his mistakes....and he has said he made mistakes with hires. Gettleman will have imput and given the situation I am sure Ron will listen. I am believing good things will happen.

I actually think that's the system Cam could do really well with.

Mularky and Whiz both could utilize it here.

I'd prefer the Coryell for Newton given that the longball is what he does best. E-P would still use it but it's more of an emphasis in Coryell.

Regardless, if its true we're looking at two E-P guys, then I absolutely hope it's something he can succeed in.

either a spread or coryell.

erhardt-perkins would be ok...i suppose. better than a WCO for sure.

Dont remember it being mentioned or not but what about Mike Martz or Brian Billick as OC? Both know how to use a big arm QB in a downfield, vertical Offense. Thoughts? Out of the two, I would rather Billick because of past in Baltimore and developing a great Offense (Vikings), Defense (Baltimore) and a great staff that the bulk of went on to be HCs (Lewis, Del Rio, Ryan, Singlutary)...

Martz is the reason Greg Olsen wanted out of Chicago.

Yeah because he wasnt being used quite as much as he would like... but if (and thats a big if) he were to be interviewed I am sure that would come up along with just using what weapons they have and building the "new" offense around them... I cant see even rivera allowing Oslen to be used primarily as an inline blocker as in Chicago

Hell no to Mike Martz. There is no way I'd want that guy anywhere near my offense.

Martz has shown enough anti-Panther slant in commentary that I wouldn't want him in the org.

Just bringing different names into the conversation...

Whoever is selected needs to stick to what they have been doing (obviously what was working), and not starting something completely new... some of the option stuff needs to continue as to keep the newton-run threat there (just maybe from the pistol not shotgun)... completely keeping newton in the pocket as a passer wouldnt take full advantage of his ability/talent
