My reaction every offseason up through training camp.

The cycle repeats with news like this...

What is it with us and wanting the cast offs of shitty teams?

Devil's advocate: because good teams aren't "casting off" their people? You either hire from college, promote from within, or pluck someone who's either currently unemployed or a position coach of a good team at this point.

Some times I wonder if the team does stuff like this just to prove that if they really wanted to make a horrible move they could, so anybody they do end up hiring looks terrific by comparison.

Except there's this thing called promotions.

Familiarity would have to be the thing here because of their time together with the Eagles.

Not a fit system-wise though. So that leaves you choosing between changing to a system that our personnel don't fit (especially our QB) or asking Shurmur to coach a system he doesn't have experience with (really don't see that happening).

Now mind you, I could see Shurmur as a QB coach, but even there it'd be a little odd.

awful fit, IMO.
I heard Shurmur's got a tattoo of his wife throwing short of the sticks on 3rd and 8.

Thanks, no. No more Browns/Chargers castoffs.
