If Jay Gruden gets hired as a head coach at one of the remaining positions, does Cincy promote Jackson to OC?

Would he prefer to remain in Cincy? Or move to Rivera's staff (disadvantage: coaching under Rivera; advantage: coaching Cam)?

when was the last time chud was actually on the field? i wonder if he's planning on separating himself from the team in cleveland as well.

re:jackson, i love the attitude and fight in him. i love how he is on the sidelines. the team could use a motivator like that.

I don't ever recall seeing him on the sidelines.

It didn't seem to bother some here, but it always irked me. Especially considering our offenses inconsistencies.

Hmmmm I don't know how I feel about that

He will be fine if he hires a great college scout.

Gettleman has loads of experience as a college scout.

The post was a sarcastic rip on Pat Yasinskas because he told a Panther fan in an ESPN chat that Gettleman had never been a college scout. Apparently Yasinskas hasn't read his bio.

Pretty ironic when you consider a guy who actually didn't have any scouting experience at any level was the guy Yasinskas had pegged as the next GM (turns out he was never even a candidate).

you also have to take into account how hue fits in with the rest of the coaching staff. This is about building relationships. I like his fire but would he pair well with Rivera. Does Rivera have the capacity to keep him in check with that ego thats been widely reported. Successful teams have a level of cohesiveness, that might be in question bringing someone like Hue in. I love the guy, think he is an awesome offensive mind. But does it fit in with what Rivera is trying to do. And yes we can talk about Rivera being on the bubble so it doesnt matter. But I believe this team is built for a deep playoff run. Others certainly disagree.

Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter

Bengals assistant coach Hue Jackson is interviewing today with the Panthers for their offensive coordinator job.

How is it possible for our beat guys to be in Charlotte and miss this?

In fairness, it could be Schefter that's wrong.

We're in Todd Haley territory, I guess. It's all discombobulated.

I guess. But it was Breer who first reported the story last week, and then they jumped on board. We'll all find out at the same time I guess.

Albert Breer@AlbertBreer

Mentioned the other day Bengals ass't Hue Jackson was interviewing for Carolina OC job, that interview just wrapped up. Shurmur there now.

Albert Breer@AlbertBreer

Jackson would also be a frontrunner for the OC job in Cincinnati if Jay Gruden were to get a head coaching job somewhere.

If they want Jackson they might have to move quickly, unless he's wants the OC job in Cincy and is willing to wait it out.

It's been a weird offseason so far, honestly.

Who knows what's true?

That's too specific a detail for me to think a guy like Breer got it wrong.

I think you were probably right. Person is the one who had it wrong.
