Jacoby Jones. Trindon Holliday.

We drafted one of the best. Turns out he sucks.

I'm not gonna lie, I am surprised Adams turned out to be as bad as he's been... Or at least not good. Wonder if it's a confidence issue, but regardless, I did not think of him as an ideal return man when we drafted him. He was good, but there were better.

Umm, didn't Holliday return one for a TD against us in the preseason while he was with the Texans?

Point remains, we could've used either guy but sat on our hands.

We need to quit trying to turn players into something they're not and get a real return man instead.

Yeah, against a crappy ST unit.

What else did Holliday do for the Texans? Absolutely nothing. Which is why they cut him. Turns out it had more to do with blocking than Holliday.

You could have brought Hester in and outside of maybe this year, he would have done nothing on our ST unit. Our returner was getting hit as soon as he touched the football.

Or perhaps the texans did something dumb by cutting him

Maybe so, but it doesn't change the fact he did nothing for them because they couldn't block on returns. A returner isn't going to do anything on a return unit that is bad at blocking.

A ruthless cleansing has already begun, and it's time to move on.

I won't argue our ST units have generlly sucked for several years now, but an actual return man could make a huge difference. And you may be right about the Texans, but Holliday flashed while there and they let Jones go too. Both guys would've been worth the cost to outbid the teams they ended up with. IIRC though, Holliday passed through waivers so he could've been had for nothing.

For one, I hope ee hire Toub this offseasonand then draft/sign a legit return man.

This is a game that any fan of any team can play with just about any player that was at one point a free agent...

Yeah but we actually brought Jones in and didn't sign him and Holliday had a history against us and we made no attempt to sign him.

You people imagining an all-Pro returner would have done much with our special teams are imagining things.

Our last GM didn't exactly put a lot of good effort into pro scouting.

I have a feeling our new one will pay a little more attention.

(that, plus going after Holiday would've meant admitting Armanti wasn't getting it done)
