I don't know anything about this guy, not real wild about giving up Alt. I dont like trading promising high draft picks, he was a second rounder.
We have now traded 2 of our top 5 defenseman prospects this offseason. Obviously the other one was Dumoulin in the J Staal trade. One thing to note is Dumoulin was our second rated defenseman prospect while he is the penguins sixth rated defenseman prospect. We need depth.

Yea our team looks really weak. There has to be something in the works. Need at least 2 really good forwards.

My guess is they like the performance of either Dan Ellis or Justin Peters in Charlotte, thus rendering Boucher expendable.

Made this trade because we are going to be calling up a lot of the Checkers players to the Canes roster this year and the Checkers are going to need more players. I don't understand why we had to add Alt in there though.
It sucks losing Alt and Dumoulin in one offseason, I guess they are still high on Murphy (regardless of his poor WJC performance).
Also, Elllis was signed by the Canes today so he will be backing up Wardo this year.
