We have always had easy-going, defensive minded, risk averse head coaches who generally keep their mouths shut in public and are friendly to the players. This has lead to a lot of 7-9 and 8-8 seasons.

I did not say that the Panthers needed a new owner. I only said ownership does indeed have a direct effect on the outcome. Some people seem to think it doesn't matter who is writing the checks.

I personally believe our current situation is a direct result from the owner of our team intentionally tanking the 2010 season. He purposefully sent us to the gutter for his own financial reasons while PSL holders had to pay the same amount regardless. That kind of action takes several years to recover from.

It looks like he is at least trying now, hiring a legit GM. Hopefully he can vindicate himself.

He tried to run a moneyball type scheme with cheap young talent and it failed. Most likely to secure his own wallet in the event of the impending strike. It begins and ends with leadership at the top. Zod is spot on with his assessment. JR paid dearly for his decisions in fan support, team legitimacy. Too bad quality players who were shown the door without so much as a thank you (John Kasay). Aside from some genius GM moves, It's going to take more than a couple of years to turn around the mediocrity brought about by selfish monetary business moves.
