Rotoworld comment on Pat Shurmur interview with the Panthers

Former Browns coach Pat Shurmur is interviewing for the Panthers' offensive-coordinator vacancy on Monday.

Carolina's interest in Shurmur was first reported on Friday. The conservative Shurmur would be a supremely uninspiring hire for Cam Newton's prospects both in real life and fantasy, and a major downgrade from Rob Chudzinski. At least Shurmur and coach Ron Rivera would be on the same page about when to punt.

Lmao! Are you ready for some limp dick football?

That's almost a Fox/Davidson-esque combo.

I'll lose all hope if we hire Shurmur.

In life. All hope in life.

If Shurmur is hired I hope Cam leaves when his contract is up to teach JR a lesson.

If Rivera hasn't learned to go for it on 4th and 1 with the game on the line, he needs to be fired immediately. Guess we won't find out until the situation presents itself next year.

Well look at the positives. . . Higher completion percent? Oh, touchdowns will be a little harder to come by, so they will feel like a big deal when they do occur. Easier name to spell. Lotta upside on this hire.

he's a defensive minded coach. that's where his instincts tell him to go. trust your defense.

i just don't think you can do that anymore. not with the game on the line.
