Got a feeling this search will take some time. Might not be finished this week.

Could be quick, but I'd be surprised. Team doesn't sound like it;s in a rush.

There is really no reason to rush into an OC hire. He just needs to be in place in time for the first offseason camps. They got some time.

True, Only reason to rush would be if someone else was also pursuing the guy you wanted.

(I think the Jets are interested in both Jackson and Shurmur; and obviously Cleveland wants Norv)

Only true in a vacuum. In the real world there are other teams with vacancies who will hire the best prospects.

Noone should fool themselves into thinking that we are such a great OC job that a top prospect will turn down other jobs to come work here. The hire must be made with all due haste, as long as the decision making process is kept intact, to land someone we actually would want working here.

Otherwise I think Dan Henning is available...

disagree.

the players need to get the playbooks and have them essentially memorized or at least well read heading into camps.

we can't assume that we will keep using chud's playbook.

also, the right OC may not feel like hanging in limbo. they might just decide to go with someone who wants them over someone just thinking about it but not ready to act.

Shurmur is a WCO guy, this would be a really bizarre hire...

Interviewing him is bizarre... If we hire him, well there is no word for how stupid that would be.

Rivera must have had a bromance with Shurmur way back when to even consider him for this job.

Why would Rivera interview a guy who will change everything unless he wants a change or thinks that Shurmur could easily make the transition. I assume that the HC and the GM have a plan.

This is what gets me. Folks are so hung up on the past and having their feeling hurt they won't see what is going on. Disgruntled fans are everywhere and have been around for as long as there have been teams. Something about being emotionally attached or some such.

Gettelemen was the popular and best choice. Yet, some are already afraid of decisions he has yet to make. Their fear has one major drawback, it gives them foresight. They can forsee bad things a comin'.

If you can honestly look at what is going on round here and not be optimistic. Damm. You could be enjoying these last three months.
