How about this, you get the money once the team makes the playoffs. That should be a nice carat.

Is it to get us under the salary cap so we can sign some free agents without gutting the rest of the team?

And yes, city council will come runnin to provide whatever JR asks for... Just another instance of the panthers organization screwing the community and not giving us a quality product for our dollars...

By the way, you guys DO know the money is provide renovations to Bank of America stadium, right? Jesus Christ.

Or maybe we should just let the stadium go to waste, have Richardson die, and be a huge candidate to move without a better/new stadium in the works, right? Then again, with the way people on this site constantly whine about every little thing including this, maybe that is what you guys want.

JR doesnt care about the community. Just making as much money as possible before he leaves the earth. He wants the fans to finance losing.

No money from taxpayers = LA Panthers.

My god, you guys are dumb.

The actual city pays very little in comparison to other pro sports teams.

So dont sign high profile free agents, have a two year attrition plan to impress your friends and let the team go to waste by keeping a lame duck coaching staff.

Sure! i cant wait to jump all over this..

Quote in the Charlotte Observer.

Taxpayers got a good deal when Bank of America Stadium was built, at least compared with the subsidies given to many NFL teams.

The public spent about $60 million on land and infrastructure, but the team built the $187 million stadium itself. Some of that money came from the sale of Personal Seat Licenses, in which fans paid for the right to buy season tickets.

In Minnesota, taxpayers are paying for half of the cost of a planned $975 million stadium for the Vikings. In Indianapolis, the public paid for almost all of the new $720 million stadium for the NFL’s Colts, which opened in 2008.
