I somehow ended up with 3 free passes to the NASCAR hall of mediocrity. I have never even considered going.

The NASCAR hall of game got 200 million of public funds. Which do you think does more for our economy?

Honestly, probably Nascar. Maybe not the Hall itself, but it was built in part to be a part of the festivities around the races in Charlotte and be an anchor of Speed Street.

The commitment to Nascar has allowed us to put a fair number of high paying Nascar jobs in uptown Charlotte including the recent announcement that they're moving all of their digital media services into the Nascar tower in Uptown from Atlanta. This likely never would have happened if the Hall wasn't built because the Nascar tower was a part of the Hall development. These are high paying jobs.

Although Charlotte isn't really a Nascar town like it once was, Nascar still plays a HUGE role in our local economy. It fills area hotel rooms and restaurants for a couple weeks (not just weekends) each year.

Getting funds from the city of Charlotte is a must. The Panthers don't actually make as much money as you might think. I know this because I actually have a copy of the Panthers books from the last 5 years (my company does finance work for them).

Perhaps he should sell the team for a Billion dollars if he is having money issues. lol

My bosses/owners like to say that they don't make that much either...about the same as me. Of course If they sell this company they stand to make tens of millions,

poor them

I went to NHOF two years ago. It was cool but I don't need to go back for another decade.

It's basically fat Yankees drooling over Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart stuff and jean short wearing duke fans using what little savings they have for a Jr lunchbox

You must have me confused with someone else - I'm a homeowner, tax payer, PSL holder, etc. Pardon me for not giving a fug if paying a few extra pennies to eat out to support a NFL team keeps them here in Charlotte.

Tell me about it. Huntersville and Cornelius are Yankee central. The bars I go to watch the Panthers game usually have every Bills/Jets fan in the county in them.
