First Impressions: Dave Gettleman

Running the hell outta the football doesn't work in today's NFL. If this is Gettleman's MO, he needs to get with the times.

The thing I like is he does not look overwhelmed with the job. He knows what he's getting into.

Does he have what it takes? I dunno. But I don't see him being overwhelmed.

Another one I liked. Talked about how "you get in trouble when you overpay".

That's something some players might not like hearing.

Also "big men" to protect the quarterback.

First impressions can be deceiving, but here were mine:

1) Gettleman has forgotten more about football than Hurney ever knew.

2) Jerry is aging quickly. He looks much more frail than say 2 years ago.

3) Back to Gettleman, overall I was impressed. I just hope he doesn't turn out to be too conservative or afraid to do something bold. I don't think he will, just saying it can be an issue with older managers.

4) His scouting experience should really help improve the bottom of our roster (depth).

I'm glad we made the change.
