Mel Kiper says DT for the Panthers in the first

Here's the whole list. Has the Falcunts winning the Super Bowl, so...

It's not a prediction, it's just how the final four teams rank. Atlanta has the best record, and NE has the best record of the remaining AFC teams. At this point in the season, all mocks should be set up this way. Hopefully the order will change Sunday night.

Wondered what the methodology was behind it all.

Richardson is like the only 3 tech 1st round DT compared to a handful of nose guys and he has us taking him when we desperately are in more in need of a NT.

Dwan can last us another season. Ron on the other hand.

Exactly. What is really stupid is that this is this guys job. You would think since that's all he has to do he would research each team throughout the season, know what there strengths and weaknesses are and go from there. We obviously have Dwan who had 5 sacks this past season, but our NT will be 32 and is injury prone. This makes absolutely no sense.

here is the writeup:

14

Sheldon Richardson *

Carolina Panthers (7-9)

COLLEGE: Missouri

AGE: 21

HT: 6-4

WT: 295

POS: DT

Analysis: The Panthers hit a home run with their first pick in 2012 when they landed Luke Kuechly, and Richardson brings a little bit of what Kuechly does at linebacker, but on the defensive line. Richardson made an unusually high number of tackles from the defensive tackle position because he has a quick burst off the snap, shows great strength in short-yardage situations and knows how to use his hands to get off blocks and make plays. The guy can even drop into coverage and will destroy screen plays. Carolina may need help at wide receiver, but the Panthers really need to strengthen the D-line as well.

no QB's at all in the first round?

there will be a team or two that will reach for a QB in the first.

Those draft gurus unfortunately aren't paid to get anything right.
