Have there been any other teams showing interest in Shurmur?

My fear is that if we were the only one and our better options are soon taken, we would be left with him.

Jets have been said to have interest in both Jackson and Shurmur.

I can just imagine how well the personalities of Hue Jackson and Rex Ryan would click

Well, Kevin O'Dea is out. He followed Toub to KC and will be his assistant there too.

Bobby April is my preference for special teams anyway.

I'm not depending on our beat guys folks. For all we know they could be interviewing someone right now and they don't even know it.

Sorta my idea, I'd say that would be a very successful offseason staff upgrade across the board.

RUNNINGBACK COACH

Ollie Wilson - worked with Rivera three years in SD; was Mike Tolbert's position coach before he came to the Panthers; plenty of experience and success

Is he also responsible for LaDainian Tomlinson, Michael Turner, and Darren Sproles? If so, the fug Yea!!! Bring him in. Fug it, give him the OC job. XD

I am way too lazy to look through hundreds of posts to see if this has been posted. If it has, move on.

Please, please let it be Hue Jackson.

I think he would bring the right attitude needed and could change the culture we have around here.

Wilson's pro career took him back and forth between the Falcons and Chargers. He was first the Falcons RB coach from 1991 to 1996. He went to the Chargers from 1997 to 2001, then back to the Falcons from 02 to 07 and back again to the Chargers from 2008 on.

Tomlinson's was with the Chargers from 2001 to 2009, so Wilson was there for part of his career but can't rightly be credited with developing hm. He and Michael Turner passed each other on the way to new locations when Turner went to Atlanta (2009). As far as Charger backs, he has the most time with Darren Sproles, having coached his final three Charger seasons.

Backs he would have coached in Atlanta would have included Jamaal Anderson, Warrick Dunn and Jason Snelling (only one year). Again, he can be credited with coaching, but not truly developing unless you count Snelling's rookie season in Atlanta.

I suppose the two backs with which he could likely best be associated are 1991 Falcon draftee (later Steeler) Erric Pegram and our own Mike Tolbert.
