From the Huffington Post

The bombshell exposed Wednesday byDeadspin reporters rocked the sporting world with revelations of an elaborate hoax involving Notre Dame star linebacker Manti Te'o and the tragic passing of his girlfriend, Lennay Kekua. As Deadspin revealed, she never existed. In the aftermath, Te'o has claimed he was the victim of a hoax, but the bizarre tale has led some to wonder if Te'o was attempting to hide a different secret--his sexuality.

L K@LennayKay

My statement: This is incredibly embarrassing to talk about, but I have been told by Alabama's offense that Manti Te'o is not real.

LOL!

If he was a good actor people would believe him... maybe a pitch man?

ESPN, CBS, ABC, and all the notre dame officials as well as the hiesman voting comitee. Seems like he had plenty of believers to me. Watch the on-field interviews after the mich st game. This kid is a top gun actor in my book!

9 baffling questions. This one I hadn't thought of.

8. Carrying out the hoax would have been a full-time job involving more than one person. Te'o claims he would spend all night on the phone with Kekua while she was in the hospital. There were purported communications from family members. Who would have had the time to orchestrate it? By the same token, how would Te'o have been able to create and maintain a social-media profile for Kekua on his own?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant that more people would believe him with the story he's telling now,

I hadn't heard of this...

5. After he supposedly received the shock of his life -- a call from someone using Kekua's voice and phone number while he was at the ESPN Awards on Dec. 6 -- Teo stayed quiet for three weeks. It wasn't until Dec. 26 that he told Notre Dame officials, who then hired private investigators to look into it.

The hell?

Wouldn't want to be in the sports information director's position at ND right now ... what a quagmire.

Right now 32 PR directors around the NFL are praying, "Please God, not here!"

I think the TMZ article helps show Manti may not have been behind Lennay.

However, my opinion still stands the same. Manti didn't know she was fake but took advantage of the situation in order to gain publicity from the media. Someone was playing him while he was playing us.

I'm not sure. if you read what the reporter from south bend tribune wrote throughout the entirety of this situation, he told him that he stared in her eyes and held her hand? The kids implicated in the sbt are friends of his, and has spent time with them before, during and after the entire ordeal. I believe the press is letting him and all other conspirators(espn, abc, notre dame) tell thier lies just like they did with ole tiga woods. And then the waterfall of facts will come pouring down upon them. I doubt he will have to go to sex addiction therapy though? the original deadspin article shoots holes in every explination given so far. he's not a socially awkward kid that got duped. I find it difficult to believe someone lacking in social skills would be the team captain for a high profile football program.
