The more I see of this saga, the more I picture Te'o and his people behind the scenes saying things like "okay, they didn't buy that; let's try this story"

Yeah, the clips they showed from the Couric show yesterday gave me a very different outlook on the situation contrasted with the off-camera quotes he gave Schaap. In the Couric interview, I felt like he was saying "I lied, but you would too if..." In the Schaap interview, he actually sounded like a victim.

Furthermore, if it was actually a man doing the voice of Lennay, that adds another layer to the story that most likely will not want to dig into and probably a huge reason why none of the stories seem cohesive... It's possible Manti is either even more embarrassed because he found out it was a man he was talking to, or he knew it and is just trying to cover it up out of fear it will hurt his draft stock. But, in one report, players at Notre Dame said part of the reason they thought Manti was being an attention ***** was because they knew he got around with the ladies at ND, so the supposed GF wasn't that serious...

Either way, I don't care anymore... It's time to let the story die.

At this point, I think "attention *****" is probably the most accurate description of him.

I've been saying this since the story came out but it doesn't seem like people can put the pieces together...it's so obvious Manti and Roniah were banging each other

There's a PFT article (can't link, on iPhone) saying Couric asked him if he's gay and he emphatically denied it. Said he was calm when asked if he was in on it, asked if he's a liar, but lost his composure when asked if he was gay. Florio tries to paint a different picture, but it sounds to me that, like some of you have said, he's gay and the whole thing was a ruse to hide that fact. It shouldn't be a problem, but it sounds like his fear of being outed is what led to the whole thing.

Could be bi ... but unless someone actually saw him engaged in sex with a female (or a male), no one really can know for sure either way.

No facts? He spent hundreds of hours on the phone talking to a man saying sweet nothings and all that garbage. Wait wait...a man pretending to be a woman. Not even the best voice actor could keep up that nonsense for that long. And if they did, they are in need of some serious mental help.
