I have to think this has something to do with Norv. It's been a week since chud was hired by the Browns, if Norv was a lock to follow him there like many reported I think it should have happened already. I think Ron and Dave are trying to lure him here.

It's purely speculative, but it's a legitimate possibility.

I've pondered that option too.

You'd rather have Norv over Jackson?

I have little doubt Rivera would prefer Turner over anyone else. Don't think anyone would question that.

Me? I'd take Norv over Shurmur, but over Jackson? That one's debatable.

I'd probably lean toward Jackson, honestly.

I was offered an interview. I am still deciding if it is a job worth of my talents.

I'm hearing they balked at your request to be put in charge of the cheerleader tryouts (sorry).

Fans of Whisenhunt may have reason to be happy. Denver named their new OC. It ain't him.

That said, if Bruce Arians gets the Cardinal job, he could conceivably ask Whisenhunt to tag along.

(would be awfully awkward though).

I'm heading to BigBitez in Cornelius for lunch in an hour or so. I'll see if Mr. Breaux is having lunch up there today. I'll see if I can talk him out of retirement.

U can't be any worse than the pitcher for the purple team in Huntersville kickball.

Denver just promoted their QB coach to OC. That could possibly mean we take a harder look at Whisenhunt(sp?)

Possibly.

Any interest on the Panthers part is still just speculation at this point. There's been no word that they've actually reached out to him.

And as someone else pointed out, he's still getting paid this season so he doesn't really have to take a lesser job if he doesn't want to.

Agreed, the only mention of him i've seen has been through Joe Person. But it seems logical to want to AT LEAST interview him, right? Who knows what Gettleman and Coaches are thinking about this hire.....

If you were Ron Rivera, would you want to put a guy that people are speculating could take your job on staff?

You might say Gettleman could, but coaches are generally allowed to have control over who's on their staff. And Gettleman seems inclined to want a good working relationship with Rivera, which makes me think he won't want to put him under the additional pressure having Whisenhunt around would bring.

Yeah, it could happen. I'm just skeptical.

Just make a hire already.

The longer all this goes on, the thinner the talent pool is..

Just to play devils advocate - as more teams are eliminated from post season the thicker the winning talent pool becomes.

I'd prefer they make the best hire, not the fastest hire.
