yep, this is on rivera and gettleman.JR isn't the one that will be calling him to offer a job. Nice misplaced anger though.
So... have we hired Hue Jackson yet?

It all starts from the top. Waiting too long until all the good ones are gone and then going after scraps. If it's all RR's job to decide, which I believe it isn't all his, then JR should push him more. But instead he's laying back.

No JR has his thumb up his ass and won't call Jackson until he has already signed the dotted line with another team.

Are you advocating for a "hands in everything", meddling type owner, a la Jerry Jones?

No, but it's been almost a week since he's been interviewed. He should be asking why RR hasn't made a decision yet. It shouldn't take that long to decide.

The one search in which Richardson was directly involved, the GM search, finished relatively quickly and with good results.
Assistant coach positions fall under the head coach with the GM signing off on hires.
Why the wait? Could be any number of things, not all of them sinister.

JR gets involved in things...he's al davis/jerruh jones v.2Some of you are bound and damn determined to blame everything on JR...whether it's his hire or not.
Sheesh
JR sits back and lets the guys he hired figure out stuff....he's not involved enough as an owner/doesn't care.
guy can't win...well, literally and figuratively.

Mr. Man might hire someone that has not been readily mentioned on here, relatively unknown. Gman is looking for a football guy, not a who is who imo.
But whoever it is im happy he has the final call.

Don't understand why it wouldn't be today. One option is in-house, Shurmer seemingly has no other options (at least as an OC), and Hue doesn't have a shot at the Cincy OC job now that Jay Gruden is certain to return. If we know who we want, it should be easy as offering the position and seeing if they accept.
In fact, I think only Hue would sit on an offer if he got one and determine whether he wanted to be in Carolina or wait out another year and see if Jay leaves after next season. So if we don't find out today, I can only think that Hue is who we want, but we're waiting on an answer.
Just doesn't make a lot of sense to me either. The team has interviewed the viable candidates. There really aren't any other hot OC picks out there. In my opinion time is precious. The OC pick needs to able to tweak or tailor his play book to fit the teams strengths and Cam's unique skill-set. I would have to believe the organization is leaning toward Hue with the pick .. Shula as the back up plan. If it is Hue lets sign him ....new pllay books still have to be disbursed.

Actually, there might be.
Up till today, the Chargers hadn't named a new QB Coach. Today they did, which frees up John Ramsdell to look for work elsewhere.

Every time I read "Hue Jackson" I think "Hugh Jackman." Now, that's a hire I could support!
Because he has great offensive coaching philosophies?
