Is this move really that surprising? Typical Panthers...

And that's the problem.

Fug. Even if it was for a year, Hue wanted the damn job. Typical Panthers move, which will probably yield the typical W/L record next season. Preparing myself for a poor start next year, and a late run that gets us to 7-9 or 8-8.

So 2013 is a throwaway. Wouldn't be so bad if offseasons weren't so damn long.

This makes sense so that when ron fails to make the playoffs next year, we can clean house

I wouldn't count on it, JR went lame duck once he will do it again. Don't want to pay two people to do one job.

Nothing breaks your "fan spirit" like watching your team be on the verge of doing something great only to see them do something stupid instead :(

I guess I just don't understand the distaste for Shula. He's done fantastic with Cam.
I know I'm actually excited to see what Shula things to our offense.

I admit, I wanted Hue Jackson, but this doesn't disappoint me.

I don't know that I was "on the wagon" so much as just it was what I was pretty sure was going to happen and I could understand the logic behind it.

Seeing decisions like this is enough to make me wonder if it was the right choice.

he's been fine with cam...but he hasn't been calling the plays.

i've got no faith in him being able to do it. got no reason for it. apparently there hasn't been a team willing to even consider it since his tampa fiasco. wanna know why? because their main goal wasn't "continuity". they were actually intent on trying to make things better.

not us, tho.

All I can assume is Rivera made this decision in the same way he made game day decisions...timidly. He didn't want to have any kind of threat to him on the staff.

I sure hope Gettleman and JR understand what a slap in the face this is to their customers, and I hope those customers find a way to let them know that.

jackson even wanted the job.

crap...who cares anymore?

i'm becoming more apathetic every week. that's about all this franchise deserves.

Do we know this for sure, that jackson wasn't getting offers from other teams? If Jackson wasn't in the picture then Shula was the best choice between Shula and Shurmur. If all three were on the table then I'm not sure what to think. Not exactly thrilled.
