They were going back and forth about the OC hire, and Marc got pretty loud, and Smitty told him he needs to lower his voice, in a way that only Smitty can.

Marc pretty much guaranteed that we wouldn't make the playoffs with Shula as our OC, Smitty loves the hire, got fed up with the negativity and called into the show to let him have it. Marc started talking over Smitty, like he does every caller. Smitty wasn't having it.

just because he "signed off" on shula doesn't mean he actually likes the hire
i expect after rivera is fired next season gettleman will be given more authority to get the guys he wants

I was talking to #89 in San Diego last month when all of a sudden a boy who kept bugging him came back and interrupted our conversation. I saw his blood boil and told this 10 year old kid to only refer to him as sir and to either kick rocks or get a boot up his ass. Smitty will tell anyone off. One simply does not get loud when talking to #89.
