Yeah...Just to be clear, this whole "tank for the #1 pick" thing doesn't happen in the real world.

People who actually play, coach and manage the game will tell you the whole notion is just plain stupid.

Even if we did have one of the top picks we probably wouldn't take a DE unless he was a generational talent and obvious upgrade over our very good two DEs. Clowney has proven to be neither yet. If we end up with a top pick next year I expect it to be spent on Smitty's replacement, either Lee or that other guy (I forget his name) are supposed to be very very good prospects.

Nobody is.

You can't convince 53 players and an entire coaching staff - including a group of people who will lose their jobs for poor performance - to throw a season.

You'd need a concerted effort. Football has too many moving parts for just one or two players or coaches to have that kind of effect, and anyone who attempted it would wind up benched, cut or fired.

People who think this actually happens in real world football have no clue.
