Downey for Clowney

Recommended Posts

I'll never be on board to tank for the number one pick... Not even with Jimmy Clausen driving the train :startle:

Nobody is.

You can't convince 53 players and an entire coaching staff - including a group of people who will lose their jobs for poor performance - to throw a season.

You'd need a concerted effort. Football has too many moving parts for just one or two players or coaches to have that kind of effect, and anyone who attempted it would wind up benched, cut or fired.

People who think this actually happens in real world football have no clue.

It's not going to happen, but if we had Clowney,we could rotate Hardy or even CJ at DT along side a space eating, run stopper of a NT. The schemes and rotations we could pull off with a Cj,D Edwards,Hardy and Clowny would be sick!

Clowney is a once in a lifetime player and I hope we get him by trading up or trading players in the draft

Don't go full retard now. Wasn't Peppers a once in a lifetime player too?

We also don't need to pull a Foreskins and sell the house for the guy next year.

He may be, but that has been said about other players who didn't turn out to be as great as many thought they would. For example

First and foremost: What was the Houston Texan brain trust thinking?! They passed on University of Southern California running back Reggie Bush to take North Carolina State University defensive end Mario Williams.

Williams is a great prospect and should be a fine NFL pro, but they passed on a potential once-in-a-lifetime player in Bush.

Once in a lifetime players rarely live up to that billing.

I don't know how many wins Cam can amass by himself to overcome Shula's god awful play calling, but it will probably be enough to ensure we don't have the 1st pick.
