Besides the point that we had horrible play calling, Tolbert was used as a blocking FB many times this year and I remember being disappointed more than once. I am not saying he can't do it, I am just saying that there are much better blocking FBs out there. Yes, I am very aware our offense had other problems but you can't say that our running game wouldn't be better with Brad Hoover in his prime than with Tolbert. This will be fun....
We had a bad YPC this season because of the read option, and a makeshift O-line due to numerous injuries... Tolbert RARELY lined up at FB as a lead blocker... Our RB's weren't even allowed to run downhill UNTIL Stew went down... So first off know what you're saying before you say it. You make it sound like Tolbert can't block anybody, when in fact he was rarely given the opportunity to do so. It's not like we ran outta the power I formation dude. We ran plays with Cam in the Gun with a RB beside him... Surprise read option
You want a starting WR to be drafted in the 6th???? LOL LOL
It happens but it's like winning the lottery.
RB's aren't a dime a dozen... Ask any team that didn't have one this year... Arizona, GB.... Especially of DeAngelo's caliber. He's a special talent
You don't know much about football do you?
My point was we need to draft 4 other positions before WR.
And didn't GB just sign a car salesman as there starting running back? And if I'm not mistaken he had a better YPC average than Dwill. But anyway that's besides the point. I wouldn't be talking about getting rid of Dwill if we didn't have 2 other starting caliber RB's.
And yes, i do know a lot about football.

TOTALLY different positions.
FS - SS
ROLB - MLB - LOLB
UT - NT
OT - OG
All different positions.
Depends on scheme with the FS and SS....run a true Tampa 2 and they are pretty comparable players

That said, given his experience I might expect a Mike Alstodt type over a Lorenzo Neal/Howard Griffith "pure blocker" sort.

I've been wanting the team to get a sledgehammer fullback for a long time.

I'd say Tolbert and Alstott are pretty comparable when discussing blocking. Tolbert might even have the edge.

Disagree.
Tolbert can be a decent blocker. Alstodt was better.

Explain the difference between a fullback and a running back right now.
I will make you look like my little fug buddy if you try to talk football.
