I don't see anyone calling you or others that share your point of view bad or stupid or saying it is outlandish to adopt your point of view. I see you and a few others making comments suggesting that we should just blindly be giddy right along with you.

So you go your way and others will go their way, hopefully without rancor. After all, we're all fans of the same team.

I am not asking for blind faith. I have given plenty of reasons for my giddy being so high.

But, the frustration level left over from last year is still strong. Which leads to fans becoming disgruntled. Comes with losing, especially on the heels of such high expectations. This is to be expected.

It is those folks that take it too far. That make outlandish statements, and spout opinions as fact. The ones that claim to know how future events will unfold. Or my favorite, that we strive for mediocrity. These are the entertaining ones, and the ones I am making fun of.

And if you don't think I get my share of poo, you ain't payin' attention. The snarky and disgruntled hate us optimists. Fortunately, they only add to the amusement.

Who is calling you or saying you are outlandish? Posters say you bitch and complain and you do. At this point it may be totally justified but we won't know for six months. All I am saying is don't beat the dead horse for 6 months but wait until it is proven one or the other. Just like although I think the team is going to be a playoff team, I am not going to start 15 threads or constantly say that either. Because I have no more evidence I am right than those predicting gloom and doom.

Perhaps my issue is that I believe the off-season is the time for optimism and positive feelings which for many teams gets bashed soon enough when the season starts. So why be miserable all along the way until there is reason to do so?

What you and your ilk call bitching and complaining, more reasonable people would call voicing my opinion. And guess what? The only people talking about which opinions are acceptable and which aren't are you and a few others.

My recommendation? Stop giving your advice on what should or should not be posted on a message board, because no one is going to pay a damn bit of attention to it anyway.

You can argue any position....does not lessen the fact that your arguement is majorly flawed and just damn wrong.

I'm right as usual, you, not so much.

What I find funny is that posters like you are always telling people not to tell them what to post. Then they follow that by telling people like me what I should or should not post.

The problem is that you folks can't see the hypocrisy and irony about doing exactly what you don't want done to you.

Rayzor most definetly beats a dead horse. It's not just an "opinion." It's an opinion stated over and over again that becomes a "dead horse" to the point that it becomes annoying having to read the same thing over and over again. i've already told rayzor this. He's a good poster. We agree on many things. And i understand the frustration. I've bitched about it to my friends and family. But I would rather look at the positivies of the situation, but be cautious. Instead of overly negative. Were all in the same boat. It's just how we perceive our situation being panthers fans. Everyone obviously has a different opinion, but its about being too overboard.

The problem is is that some posters have been so negative that they chip in to say anything that can be remotely seen as a "fault" of a player or coach. That is the problem. Take a step back, breath, relax and know that we are all in this thing together. We all wanna see Cam, Smitty, Kalil, Keek, Beast, and TD hold that lombardi trophy.

Look, these are all recent events. It is fresh in everyone's mind. I won't pretend to speak for others, but there is no doubt in my mind that 99.9% of the posters here are going to be rooting just as hard come the start of the season as they were last year. Perhaps a bit more cautiously, but rooting nonetheless.

Many of these same people getting called out for being negative now have been called homeristic in the past. Sometimes events cause people to change their perspective and no one will know who's right on wrong until it happens.

A look at the front page shows a lot of "positive" threads. I don't see an unhealthy weighting of negatives either in threads started or in posts. What gets some of us going though is when we are called out for stating a contrary opinion. Maybe if that is stopped, some of the negative posting will ease up.

I am going to look for positive signs that things are headed in the right direction, and will applaud them as appropriate. But hopefully those that care about this team will also continue to look at them objectively and with a critical eye. All of us want the same thing; an improved team on the field come September.

I for one think it is a great thing everyone is so negative right now. They were too positive last offseason and let expectations get out of control.

I was pumped about this past season also but kept telling people I was cautiously optimistic. I also said that I wouldn't be surprised if we went 10-6 or 6-10.

But a big part of the overreaction to everything this offseason is a direct reflection of the overreaction to last offseason. Expectations were so high that when we failed it seemed to be more devastating than it actually probably is. I know this has become the new "it is what it is" but it is a process that takes time. i think we thought that since Cam's rookie year was so unprecedented, that his rise to top 5 status would also be unprecedented and happen right away, instead of the gradual progression to that status that most QBs go through.

I think (hope) that everyone got caught up in the hype last offseason. Fans, players, coaches, and front office all got swept up in the hype and thought they were better than they were. Because this year with the exact opposite happening and everyone thinking we are screwed and are so down on the team and the coaches, that next year's team will actually have something to prove, not live up to.

I understand where you are coming from. It's just the relentless posts of the same negativity written in a variety of different ways. We get it. I've had the same thoughts. It's just pointless to go on and on. Being critical isn't the same as continuing to reply in the same manner as before, regardless of the situation. Nitpicking, instead of the overall message is my only problem here.

My thoughts exactly.
