Yes, she used a vocal track. And she wasn't the only one, but it was her voice. And had the track screwed up she could have sang it. Ashlee Simpson can't sing.

I don't know why people insist that she didn't sing that live. I imagine it would have been more disjointed if she did use a tract with the orchestra that was playing live.
Has it ever been proven that she used a vocal tract?

Her lips weren't moving while her voice was coming over the speakers. From what I remember, she didn't even have the mic up.
I'd say that's pretty good evidence.
