“(San Francisco QB) Colin Kaepernick can run faster than any quarterback in the league. He is faster than RG3 running the ball down the field, and he is a whole lot stronger and more physical. He can take a hit and pop back up. I really liked him when he was coming out. He is a leader. That was the difference between him and Cam Newton. Cam is a frontrunner who is good when things are good. When it’s (bad), he’s part of the reason and will make it worse.”

“(Panthers rookie LB) Luke Kuechly is the most instinctive linebacker in the NFL. He sees things before they happen. He led the league in tackles after playing the first four games at outside linebacker.”

Prove the haters wrong Cam!

Huh, I don't take them, or what they wrote seriously, anyway.

Everybody knows Kaepernick is not the fastest QB in the league. He also plays in a system that made even perennial Bust, Alex Smith look good. And that was just a pure unmitigated, unwarranted cheap shot/lie directed at Cam, considering Kaepernick has only played 9 NFL games and Cam's Panthers started the year horribly, and were able to finish the year strong with him playing some of his best QB in his brief career. Plus (contrary to what many in the media want you to believe), Cam has never thrown his teammates under the bus and/or criticized his coaches, even when he would have all right to, when things were tough??

And regardless if he wins a Superbowl or not: The juries still out on Colin Kaepernick, as talented as he is. And I like him. But let's remember. Jeff Hostedler, came off the bench for Phil Simms when they were with the Giants; got hot, and won a Superbowl after Simms had won one several years earlier with the same team. Needless to say, when Hostedler went elsewhere, he had very poor results, and became a journeymen QB.

So haters step to the left!!!!!

For the people arguing with me last night about who's faster, read OP.

PFW should just call it quits. PFF has eaten their lunch.

It's only because he's winning... If CK "was the leader he is" when losing I guarantee we wouldn't be hearing about him at all

Sure Cam Newton is just a frontrunner than can't improve a bad situation. God knows Auburn was on track for a National Championship before he ever got there and that Steve Smith was still putting up pro bowl numbers with Jimmy Clausen.

Was someone actually arguing that Cam was faster than Squidward?

Edit: I mean, I'm not looking up times but it seems pretty fuging obvious that Cam is slower. Bigger and has a better arm, but definitely slower.

Exactly!!

Plus, it's easy to be a "Good Leader", when you play under a Good Head Coach and [Good] team, that's making moves. The two usually go hand in hand, don't they?

The media can be such hypocrites and selective in their criticism at times. But we already knew that. SMH

I hope we run Cam in that pistol offense though, some this season. Looks fun.

There was a discussion last night, where many were saying (and I agree), that Cam has similar speed to Kaepernick--The 40 times show this. Plus we were arguing that Cam is bigger, shiftier, follows his blockers, is more patient, doesn't have as many big holes as Kaepernick--lately, therefore doesn't get a chance to show off his speed as often.

Plus, I think Cam is a smoother runner in the open field (less moving parts), so that may make Kaepernick appear that much faster when he runs. Cam usually has less big holes, to shoot out the backfield as well. Therefore he's usually probing or juking guys most times.

Obviously, if you're not prepared for Kaep, you're going to give him more space (like Atlanta did), and he'll have more open space to run. Teams are already prepared for Cam in this respect. That's why so many times it seems he's running through a maze just to get a few measly (albeit) spectacular yards.

They are getting real old and I knew it would happen.

Sorry but the 49ers were already very close to a championship team under nolan and the drafts from he and that GM shows now.

The Panthers are 3-4 years away from being close to that...bad drafts, bad draft choices opting to go on the cheap with Fox in his last year and here we are....oh yeah, not being honest about the 'talent' on this team.

The reality for Colin, give a Pro DC a year's tape on him and things will be different next year.

That said, I like the young man. He does his job and he does it well.

What makes Kaepernick such a good runner is that OL and offense. When he rushed for the record 181 yards, 173 of it was before contact. He just took off and ran through wide open lanes. He's faster than Cam in a straight line, but Cam is shiftier and much stronger to run through contact.
