You're talking about Spagnuolo or Flajole?

Spags is: An outstanding position coach, a so-so defensive coordinator, and a terrible head coach.

Hey we've got an opening at the LB coaching position, Steve, come on down

Holler at me when the saints find guys like clay Matthews, Charles Woodson, BJ raji, and Cullen Jenkins to fit in their new system.

2009 draft when the Pack chose to go 3-4 their first two picks were BJ Raji and Clay Mathews.
To continue to think it cant be done is naive at best.

They also had two first rounders to select those guys, and had other guys like Woodson, Jenkins, Tramon Williams, Nick Collins, etc. They also had an organization who knew how to draft defense, and oh yeah, they had a coach who has a great history of running the 3-4. The Saints have even hired a defensive coordinator yet, are in cap hell, yet they're switching to a 3-4. Sounds like a great, well thought out plan.

I remember the year (2009) Green Bay brought in Dom Capers and switched to the 3-4 defense. It was hilarious watching them.
What were they thinking they'd suck for years, just ask the Huddle!1!!!!11!!1!!1!!!!
Then they won the Super Bowl the same year.

That was the 2010 Packers you are talking about, might want to check your facts.

Saints have shown they are pretty savvy in Free Agency and in the last few years I'm sure you'll agree virtually everything they do is done better than it is done on Carolina.
It sucks but they've been going to the Playoffs and winning a Super Bowl while we win fug all but that's how it is. It's easy to hope they'll suck and drop to the bottom of the NFC South but I'm noy going to stick my head in the sand and ignore the fact that New Orleans will be much improved next year, one way or another.
I guess we'll see and check back in about 10 months.

WOW!!!! Can we sign Spag to somewhere on the staff no??

Im gonna laugh at that 34 D for NO. They dont even have the fuggn personnel for it. We're in better position to convert to a 34 than they are.

It's not like the Saints have the personnel for a 4-3 either. If there's a time to switch it might as well be now. Regardless of what scheme they pick, they are basically starting from zero.

If the Saints do anything it will be because of their offense and their head coach coming back, not because of some madden esque switch to a 3-4 for all the reasons that I mentioned.

good point. i think they have the personnel that fits the 4-3 better, but not well.

i'm not sure they've got the personnel to run any defense well. it's kind of like trying to find the best offense for clausen.

A Jon Hankins or Jesse Williams wouldve easily help that 43 D.

Now, what are you going to do with Will Smith and Cameron Jordan?
