Second City Mock - Updated 3-21-13

Recommended Posts

Gamble is gone. Too old too much money and the easiest person to cut and save money. So stop the hope. let him go.

I'm not hoping Gamble stay. I'm hoping we go after Cason, DRC or McKelvin

First and foremost, the trade down is lopsided toward the Colts by 156 points (#14:1100, #24, 88 and 120: 944). It would make much more sense if we traded down with them to get their 1st and 2nd (1080 total value).

As to you picks, I really like them except the first. I'm not much of a fan of Jenkins, but I wouldn't argue he has potential to be better than I've seen of him. If your mock was the way it played out, I'd be very happy overall and satisfied enough with Jenkins. Patton could very well go higher than the 3rd, but if we made a fair trade and got their 2nd instead of 3rd and 4th, that wouldn't be an issue.

In a fair trade we'd have #24 overall, two 2nds, a 4th, etc. Modifying your draft picks that are affected by that, I'd take Patton (or Hunter or one of the other high potential 2nd round WRs) with our 2nd, with the second 2nd take Bacarri Rambo, and pick up an OG in the 4th. Or we could go with an OG/OT with the second 2nd and get Jefferson like you said in the 4th but I like Rambo a lot more than Jefferson and probably more than most of the OG/OTs that'll probably be there at #24 in the 2nd.

Good mock though, I'd be very happy with that haul.

If Patton is still there at our pick in the 2nd, I would be incredibly surprised. Much less being able to pick him in the 3rd.

I haven't seen any mocks with him going in the early 2nd. A few with him going late 2nd, but not many. Granted, mocks are mocks and not GM opinion, but still, the consensus seems to be he's a borderline 2nd/3rd round prospect.

Just because we are not paying him what is contract is for ....does not mean we cannot sign him for the market rate

Damn. Forgot that. Just assume we trade with another team then. Plenty of teams in that range will be looking to move up.

Looked good until I see that you had Twill in the 3rd. I quit reading from there on
