Example zach miller.
His cap hit for next year is 11 million.
His remaining base salary is 14.4 million for three years
Remaining signing bonus is only 3 million (1 mil a year)
But then he has 6.6 million remaining in misc. Bonuses over three years.
If he could be cut/traded it would save me 8 million in cap space in my mind. Let me know if Im totally wrong.

trades do not effect the cap, that is to complicated and time consuming.might make it where you can cut 1 player and free up some cap space.you are still responsible for a % of that players cap hit based off how many years are left on the contract.Question about trades. When you trade I know all signing bonuses come due to cap immediately correct? But I have several players with misc. Bonuses. So how do I find out if those are performance related? If they are if those players are traded or cut (if we can) do those misc. Bonuses count against my cap?

no.So if I trade zach miller it won't lower my cap? Just trying to understand so I know how to bid in free agency if I do make a trade.

munch came up with a good idea.you can cut a guy and only take a % of his cap hit based on the years left on the contract.the more years left on the contract, the less % taken off of the cap hit.means you dont really free much money with a big contract.Really want to know how cutting works. I have one particular player that I want/need to cut.

Sounds good.
2 questions.
1) Is there a limit to how many players can be cut?
2) Is there a specific thread to announce it or do you put it with the depth chart?
