What The Panthers Need To Succeed, among other things

Is the kind of stability and quality of Oline play the San Fransisco 49ers currently enjoy.

Alex Boone, Anthony Davis, Johnathon Goodwin, Mile Iupati and Joe Staley.

What a draft for the 49ers in 2010 when their 1st round picks were Anthony Davis and Mike Iupati.

Where'd the 49ers get the extra 1st rounder?

Marty Hurney gave it to the 9ers so the Panthers could draft Everette Brown in the 2nd round year 2009.

The Panthers need to get draft day intelligent, they simply cant afford anymore of those kind of Franchise turning fug ups.

Dave Gettleman, please make OLine Job 1 in your quest as the Panthers new GM.

Wide Receiver and everything else will have to wait until later rounds, later drafts or later in Free Agency.

Dividends will be payed moving forward regardless of what Coaching staff is entrenched in BofA next year and beyond.

I was half-expecting to open this and see a gif of "cowbell".

But you are right. OL improvements are what we desperately need, more than anything (except maybe better safeties).

Panthers need a run stopping DT who can hopefully provide a little pressure on the QB, as well as a big-bodied WR with the potential to un-throne Smitty as our main wide-out---or one that at least plays big. I think that we could get by on some of the other positions, but it would be nice to add a piece or two to the O-line depending on what vets are here next year, which brings me to what we need most to get this done: cap space. An every-down legitimate safety would be nice, as well as a CB (which may end up being akin to a luxury pick with the development that our young corners showcased the latter part of last season. Lastly, we need our young coaching staff and players to gel, harden, and continue their positive progression---particularly Cam Newton.
