I will encourage my son to play everything but football despite it being my favorite sport.
Not saying I wouldn't let him....but I definitely will try to steer him to other sports instead.
....also, I am sure he is talking hypothetically. If he had one...
My son played football, basketball, and baseball and soccer (off and on) from youth through high school.
He never got hurt (outside of scratches and bruises) playing football.
He got a concussion playing soccer.
He broke his finger and had to have surgical reconstruction playing basketball.
