Guess that's what you get when you hire a sportswriter/cap manager to build your roster.
This is why I severely doubt the notion that Brandon Beane will be groomed as an eventual replacement. We've been down that road already and it didn't lead to a good place.
Depends on who's doing the grooming. If he can study at the feet of people like Gettleman and Accorsi, he might turn into good GM material. He's still young enough to not be set in his ways.
