He could have been but to me he isnt.

Jerry Rice, Don Hutson, and T.O are all better. You could make arguments for Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, Tim Brown, Michael Irvin, Steve Largent, Art Monk, Chris Carter, Calvin Johnson, Lynn Swann, Andre Reed, James Lofton, and even our own Steve Smith.

Maybe that last list is pushing it, but I'd personally take any of those guys over him. Randy Moss is the Julius Peppers of wide receivers. Honestly could've been the best of all time with his talent and skillset, but just didn't try hard enough. If he had the heart and drive of a guy like Steve Smith or Jerry Rice, who aren't nearly as "athletic" or "talented" as Randy, he would probably be widely considered the greatest of all time, and his stats would be through the roof.

Strongly disagree, but he could have been. The GOAT doesnt have the seasons he had in Oakland and he is proof that QB's make wr's more than the other way around. I recall the playoff game against Philly when he was still with Minn, he couldnt have hustled any less that game.

put Moss with HoF QB's his entire career and this isnt a discussion

Moss had 1 future HoF QB he played with in Brady and he broke some of the best season records for WR's.

Give Jerry rice all the QB's Moss had to deal with and his stats would have plummeted badly.

Randall Cunningham is no scrub

Nor was Daunte Culpepper, he held a few NFL records before he got injured (completion % most notably)

Then Tom Brady.

Don't make excuses for him. Jerry Rice is the Goat. And it's not close. Moss didn't give his all all the time. That's why there is no discussion and Jerry Rice is the GOAT.

he played with Cunningham 1 year before he retired at like the age of 50, culpepper indeed was a scrub ( ok he had 1 good year cause of Moss, when he didnt have Moss, well he became a 3rd string QB).

There's a reason WR's will quit on terrible QB's, example Smith & Clausen.

Give Moss HoF QB's his entire career and he blows out Rice's numbers

Maybe, maybe not. If he wasn't such a smug prick he probably would have anyways.

The "Greatest of all Time" doesn't finish a Super Bowl with only two receptions, the longest of which benefited heavily from a blown coverage.

Ravens didn't even need to double Moss.

Do you consider Rice the greatest WR? If so, did teams double up Rice in his later years?

Also, Rice didn't finish out his career with great stats either.

    • OL model is probably Dallas and they committed to drafting talent. Two legit first round tackles and a late first rounder at center. Only first four rounds for them: 2011 Draft    Round    Pick #    Overall    Name    Position    College
1    9    9    Tyron Smith    Offensive Tackle    USC
4    13    110    David Arkin    Guard    Missouri State
      2013
          1    31    31    Travis Frederick    Center    Wisconsin
2    15    47    Gavin Escobar    Tight End    San Diego State
      2014
1    16    16    Zack Martin    Offensive Tackle    Notre Dame
      2015
3    27    91    Chaz Green    Offensive Tackle    Florida Panthers during the same time frame, in all rounds. 2011 Draft    Round    Pick #    Overall Pick #    Player    Position    College
6    38    203    Zachary Williams    Center    Washington State
          7    41    244    Lee Ziemba    Tackle    Auburn
      2012
2    8    40    Amini Silatolu    Guard    Midwestern State
      2013
4    11    108    Edmund Kugbila    Offensive Guard    Valdosta State
      2014
3    28    92    Trai Turner    Offensive Guard    LSU
4    3    102    Daryl Williams    Offensive Tackle    Oklahoma
        Luckily 2014 panned out.
    • Panthers have met with potential second round safety and combine phenom Obi Melifonwu     Begin exuberance now
    • Hoping the details show a pay cut, not a Hurney style restructure pushing guarantees down the road for a player who is past his prime.
