Colin Kaepernick Didn't Think He'd Beat Newton To Super Bowl, He Says At Media Day (USA Today)

45 posts in this topic

from the bottom of my heart, FUG KAEP. And every other QB that doesnt play for the panthers.

Now that I got that out of the way, I didnt like the comments if taken by them self or out of context. The truth is that the question he was asked was likely designed to give specifically that response. That being the case I think he could have said a lot worse, sooo w/e.

umm actually hes mixed...but i get what you are saying man.

Until he gets locked up next week after the super bowl then he is fully black. Plus, not many pure black people left in America other than first generation Africans. oh...you mean the skin tone. My bad! Carry on!

Kaep and Cam will probably be the best players(note I said player, not QB. The Jordanesque types) in the league in the coming years. The rivalry is just getting started.

I didn't think it was disrespectful of Cam at all. Kaep and Cam are the closest type of player skill set wise. Big, fast, mobile, smart players, with rocket laser arms. The comparison should always be there and Panther fans should embrace it. They are both great players. One is in a fortunate situation, the other one is not. Like Cam, kaep had been branded arrogant but not to the extent as Cam, because he's on a winning team. They both have there TD celebrations. But what the media and some people are forgetting is that they are using those poses for merchandising for there charities. This is the new generation. Rodgers really started it recently with the discount double check, and this newer generation has followed it.

Colin does it for charity. Cam does it for kids/charity. The parallels between the two are immense. And i think they both respect and admire each others game. It woud be really cool to see them both get together to do a charity/ commercial together

Happy for Kaep, and hope he and his team get the victory Sunday. I root for guys like Kaepernick. Cam will eventually get to the Superbowl, though.

It just seems like a dumb comment, going from the worst team in the league to Super Bowl bound has never been done in two seasons.

How long have you been following the Panthers?

I simply don't get why when it comes to Cam, the Panthers don't seem to matter. It's like the team dynamic don't seem to count for anything. Cam isn'f further along because he's playing on a team that is learning how to walk again.

Those in the media are desparately trying to make it appear as if Luck and Cam were in the same boat being drafted at number one. But truth be told, the Colts were a much better team than their 2011 season showed. The Panthers are a team like the Colts when Peyton was a rookie. They are seriously learning how to win and enjoy winning. I believe the Panthers will get to the SB with Cam. The question you folks need to ask yourselves is, are you willing to be patient and let your team remember what it's like to run and be competitive again, so to speak.

In all honesty, I love Colin. When I see him, it makes me realize how hypocritical the media are with Cam. That kid makes Cam look like he wears suits to practice. Colin is so laid-back and with the guy from the neighborhood attitude.

Exactly if he robbed a bank or committed any crime he would be listed as black in the police records. All black Americans are mixed......most black Americans are anywhere from 10 to 20 percent white genetically on avg. With the majority of those folks having a white male great great grand parent.

If anything Kap should be applauded for proving a QB like Cam can get to a Super Bowl. Imagine if he wins it, he'd be the first black QB to win a Super Bowl since Doug Williams over 25 years ago. I'm happy for Colin and hope he plays well although I got Baltimore winning it.

Wait.... What Kaep. is black? The last time I looked. He look like he has some Indian in him or part mexican. But black he is not. He has a tan look to his skin. That is it.

    • Dang Maureen Dowd https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/03/25/opinion/sunday/donald-this-i-will-tell-you.html?_r=0&referer=https://t.co/Lde3tYAqzB Dear Donald, We’ve known each other a long time, so I think I can be blunt. You know how you said at campaign rallies that you did not like being identified as a politician? Don’t worry. No one will ever mistake you for a politician. After this past week, they won’t even mistake you for a top-notch negotiator.   I was born here. The first image in my memory bank is the Capitol, all lit up at night. And my primary observation about Washington is this: Unless you’re careful, you end up turning into what you started out scorning.   And you, Donald, are getting a reputation as a sucker. And worse, a sucker who is a tool of the D.C. establishment. Your whole campaign was mocking your rivals and the D.C. elite, jawing about how Americans had turned into losers, with our bad deals and open borders and the Obamacare “disaster.” what he didn’t know. You both resembled Macy’s Thanksgiving Day balloons, floating above the nitty-gritty and focusing on a few big thoughts. But President Reagan was confident enough to accept that he needed experts below, deftly maneuvering the strings. You’re just careering around on your own, crashing into buildings and losing altitude, growling at the cameras and spewing nasty conspiracy theories, instead of offering a sunny smile, bipartisanship, optimism and professionalism. You promised to get the best people around you in the White House, the best of the best. In fact, “best” is one of your favorite words. Instead, you dragged that motley skeleton crew into the White House and let them create a feuding, leaking, belligerent, conspiratorial, sycophantic atmosphere. Instead of a smooth, classy operator like James Baker, you have a Manichaean anarchist in Steve Bannon. You knew the Republicans were full of hot air. They haven’t had to pass anything in a long time, and they have no aptitude for governing. To paraphrase an old Barney Frank line, asking the Republicans to govern is like asking Frank to judge the Miss America contest — “If your heart’s not in it, you don’t do a very good job.” You knew that Paul Ryan’s vaunted reputation as a policy wonk was fake news. Republicans have been running on repealing and replacing Obamacare for years and they never even bothered to come up with a valid alternative. .................. You sold yourself as the businessman who could shake things up and make Washington work again. Instead, you got worked over by the Republican leadership and the business community, who set you up to do their bidding. That’s why they’re putting up with all your craziness about Russia and wiretapping and unending lies and rattling our allies. They’re counting on you being a delusional dupe who didn’t even know what was in the bill because you’re sitting around in a bathrobe getting your information from wackadoodles on Fox News and then, as The Post reported, peppering aides with the query, “Is this really a good bill?” You got played. It took W. years to smash everything. You’re way ahead of schedule. And I can say you’re doing badly, because I’m a columnist, and you’re not. Say hello to everybody, O.K.? Sincerely, Maureen
