Both are archaic... The meaning you cite is from the 14th century...So here you are, literally arguing with a dictionary... Putting words in scot's mouth and building a strawman while comparing me to stirs and some argument about the word n*gger (which is effectively a godwin 'round here.) I appreciate and understand your opinion on this and you are certainly entitled to your feelings but unless you have an etymology degree... Well, we're just going to have to agree to disagree.

Sometimes the Godwin comparison is valid, you know that right? Both of you feel that if the word originated from something non-offensive, well then it's all cool then.
Also, you know dictionaries aren't the end-all be-all right? Especially when I can just cite a different dictionary that says what I agree with more.
