That's impressive but he is not a starter.
Kuechly would have had a chance at the highest tackle (yeah a wonky stat I know) total of all time if he had started all season at MLB.

Casey Hayward I think is the only other guy that should have been in contention of DROY. I was reading some of the comments on NFL.com about Luke getting the award and a TON of people really think Wagner deserved it. So many of them think Luke won it simply because he puts up insane tackle numbers.
lol There has to be a reason for those tackles. He's not standing at a chalk board simply changing numbers. lol
{{sorry, that's the visual I had reading that}}

I assume "showcase29" is Hayward, so the "ROBBED" comment would actually have come from Hayward himself.
That, I find more annoying than Matthews saying "hey, I voted for ya".
Hey Nimrod, coming in third with less than a quarter of the votes the winner got makes for a weak argument that you were "robbed".

You know what actually bugs me way more than Matthews here?

I don't think you are right here, unless Matthews and/or Hayward have since deleted tweets.
Matthews was saying that Hayward was robbed, and that he voted for him. Hayward did later Re-Tweet Matthews' tweet, though.

Lol I see what your saying. These are the common excuses I'm seeing.
"It's easy to rack up tackles when your Dline is as bad as the Panthers'"
"Carolina's defense is terrible and can never get off the field, thats how he gets so many tackles"
"Tackles are overrated"
"Nobody else on Carolina's defense can tackle"
Fact is that Wagner did a great job filling a big need on a very strong defense. He's going to be a good player for quite a while barring injury.
Luke completely transformed the Panthers defense. What he does with pre-snap reads and audibles is just insane. Even when he isn't the guy making the tackle, you'll see him audible new gap assignments and the play gets blown up in the backfield. Luke is a hall of fame talent linebacker and is going to have a similar impact on our defense as Ray Lewis and Urlacher had on their respective defenses.

Usually i would call these declarations premature. But after seeing that 20 year old go toe to toe with Matt Ryan, calling audibles and adjusting the defense against one of the top offenses in the NFL thus allowing less than, what 60 yards inthe a half, was absolutely mind-boggling. Imagine what he'll be like in 3 years. We got lucky as poo these last two first round picks.

Yeah looks like he tweeted it originally but it's conveniently disappeared.
This is why I really appreciate a guy like Luke, he is humble and quiet. Until he suits up..
