Savannah

I maybe moving for a job and wanted to see what the crowd here thinks of Savannah. Living wise, I know how hit or miss it can be in the downtown area but was curious about where a good spot would be for a young professional crowd either in the city or just outside near a beach or something cool.

I've been doing my fair share of research but thought some feedback would be nice from das huddle.

yes Savannah is very nice. expect ungodly heat in the summer but the nightlife and nearby Jeckyl Island is cool.

nice. Thanks for some feedback

Looking at the rent prices, it seems like a relatively inexpensive area to rent even in its nicer spots. I'm definitely thinking like this could be my new stomping grounds for a few years or so.

The only downside I'm seeing is the distance from pro sports but I tend to do a ton of Charlotte and DC trips so it'll balance out.

I have a client in Savannah now so have been there twice. It's a really cool and artsy spot. I remember walking out of a restaurant in early December and a group of 40 somethings were just chilling in the middle of the street all with cocktails in hand. Apparently its a great walking city. And it's truly a golf all year spot too.

I think it's a great spot.

those of us who are old think of a blonde porn star when we hear Savannah:

I actually saw her live at a strip club once. She flashed me her cooch.

I prefer Charleston and Wilmington to Savannah in almost every way.

But have fun.

I'd like to hear why. I'm considering moving...it's not set yet.

Hilton head is 40 minutes away, it also has a huge art school in scad right down town.

The downtown area is extremely touristy. I mean crazy.

Rarely any breeze, and extremely hot in the summertime.

No waves.

Boating is not a huge part of the lifestyle down there.

Not nearly as many hot chicks, compared to Wilmington and Charleston.

It's in Georgia.

    • This is a hypothetical scenario that maybe should be taken into consideration going into the draft in April.  What part of the team would suffer the most if they lost a key player on the respective side? - If we lose Greg Olsen to injury how much of a drop off is their on offense -If we lose a Safety, DE, or LB how much of a drop off is their on defense -Personally I think the offense would loose basically 1/5 of the production and with no real depth to make an impact.
    • I used to hold out hope, but I think that it's become obvious that the organization really doesn't him like that. He worked very hard to put on a little muscle and refine his game before the past season, but still didn't get any real play, despite those in front of him playing lackluster ball. Throw in the fact that we've added another couple of suspect receivers and are searching for upgrades via the draft, I just don't believe that they believe Byrd is that guy.
