Jacoby Jones vs Anquan Boldin

27 posts in this topic

I just wanted to bump this thread and add new info. According to Fox Sports Boldin has been given an ultimatum of get released or restructure. The report is that he will retire if released, so that probably means that he doesn't expect to restructure since he likely would have kept his mouth closed.

p.s. the number is 7.5 million

For one or two years, I'd take Boldin. But for the long-term, I'd take Jones. Poor man's Mike Wallace - and we're cap poor right now.

Jones and it's not even close, IMO.

He's a better fit for our offense, gives us a dangerous return man and isn't as old as Boldin.

If we were in a "closing window" scenario I'd go with Boldin, but for as young as we are Jones makes way too much sense.

we need to quit worrying about spending money, and start figuring out how to shed money

God forbid the fans on a message board during the off season discuss hypothetical scenarios which are far more entertaining that who to cut...

Boldin is 100% badass

The next best thing to 89 in regards to being badass.

I don't think Jones will command a huge contract. I sure as hell wouldn't pay it.

yeah it looks like he is out the door. However, I'm not as optimistic as I once was when I started this thread. His number is 7.5 mil and I suspect the Ravens would like to see something around 3 or 4 and he probably wont go too much lower than 7. Neither of which makes him worth it to us. If we were closer to winning some playoff games maybe, or if he was younger and would be here for awhile then definitely.

    • Just from the movie. I didn't guess that she was bringing all the black dudes in, but I knew right away the family was collecting blacks and the mom was using hypnosis to keep them there. I was like, yep ... evil white people. Neat.
    • Has a visit with Carolina. Ran under a 7 second 3 cone drill. Underrated blocker, go watch him matched up vs Texas A&M. Reminds me of Jordan Reed and is bigger and faster than him when he entered the league
    • ive dug and dug on Cam Robinson. more and more i think hes had bad coaching at Alabama. most scouts say that he has different footwork from one play to the next. when his footwork is right, hes a badass. he haS bad habits, but is the most talented big man in the draft when it comes to upside. he needs a great OL coach.  worst case he can start at right tackle tomorrow. then we could move daryl to guard if tray and norwell both leave. he gives us a lot of options and can be a dominant left tackle if he can get consistent footwork.  he handled Garrett. he didnt handle carl lawson. lawson is a tactician, thats why he could take advantage of robinsons bad habits.
