Let's look at the last 4 Superbowl Champs...
Ravens: Flacco, Harbaugh, Newsome
Giants: Eli, Coughlin, Reese
Packers: Rodgers, McCarthy, Thompson
Saints: Brees, Payton, Loomis (yea they're scumbags, but Brees is a record setting QB, Payton is a great head coach and Loomis is renowned for having been able to find some gems in the later rounds of the draft or in UDFAs and for finding free agents. He did put a lot of talent in New Orleans)
Compare that to the Panthers. We have a QB with potential and talent. We have a very esteemed executive coming in to oversee the operations and fix the team as the GM. As for head coach, er, let me get back to you on that. When you have those three pieces in place, the ability to contend is ours.
It takes a triad of excellence to win
