Draft - all about offense. O-line and receiver

FA - all about defense

Good idea honestly.

The Free Agent pool for CB and DT are pretty deep and could bring in some serviceable players for a decent price.

I really wouldn't mind seeing Glenn Dorsey in a 4-3.

Could people on here please stop using Cam to make a point about a WR.

2 different Position 1st of all can not be compare for their impact on a team. Scouts are often wrong on QB going both ways. Example Clausen was the most pro ready. Gabbert was pro ready. They don't make as many mistakes on WR.

Cam was a National Championship winning QB who carried his team in his "1" year of big time college football.

Patterson did not carrie his team to anything. He only played because the other guys got hurt. And he doesn't run but 2-3 routes and has a lot of work to be done on his hands. He did more running out the back field then Joe adams. He had half as many rushes as he had rec.

Cam broke records for TD,- passing% and TD to TO ratio his 1 year.

Patterson stats are (in his 1 year of Big time college football) 46 rec. 778 yards 5td.
When was the last WR with those numbers drafted in the top 15???
Don't worry I'll wait.................

So can we stop comparing Cam to Patterson please???

How about doing some homework and show me a "WR" with 1year of College exp. that was as raw as Patterson is but made a impact in his rookie season. poo find me one that had impact in his 2nd year if you can.

For one: wr often dont carry their teams anywhere so comparing his success to Cam is stupid. all i was really comparing to came was the 1 year juco 1year college so big deal. Cam was also labeled as Raw.

Not in the 1st or 2nd round we don't with bigger problems on the roster. We don't have the Luxury to pick up another project at WR right now. If their was a Michael Floyd (who was picked 13th last year) maybe I'd agree with you.

We have enough projects at WR right now in my opinion and bigger needs on the team.

my reasoning for drafting a wr above the other needs is because dt and og can be taking care of in free agency with cheap vets. impact cb can be found in the 2nd and 3rd round if we want to go that route. wr is something we will not be able to fix through free agency, only through the draft. Patterson numbers lie because his QB is garbage and has never completed more than 60% of his passes so how about you do some homework. and who told you he doesnt have good hands is a lie you need to read some scouting reports. his size speed and elusiveness will make have an impact. he is excellent at the jump ball and would be excellent in the redzone his first year.

also for the record i really dont want him at 14. if you go look at my mock i would rather trade down further and select him there.

by the way who do you suggest taking at 14...

Anyone calling WR a luxury pick should just go ahead and ban themselves

i'm not saying it won't happen yet but...it's not a fact if it hasn't happened yet??? Anything can happen before FA.

Gambles a good guy and a key part of Carolina I wouldn't be surprised if he restructures.

Captian got benched early on then played when Gamble got hurt, he also sat the Oakland game despite being healthy and playing.

BUT OH WAIT HE HAD PICK SIXES???

WELL LET'S IGNORE THE FACT THAT HE WAS PENALIZED A LOT AND TARGETED A LOT BY QBS

TWO PICK SIXES. HOF PLAYER. RESIGN NOW.

poo LET'S RESIGN DARIUS BUTLER TOO. HE HAD TWO PICK SIXES TOO!!! IGNORE THE ABYSMAL COVERAGE HE RETURNED AN INTERCEPTION FOR A TOUCHDOOOOOOOOOWN.

You lose based on the Fact we are arguing about our best CB last year and our choices are Captain and Norman. That alone tells me CB is a bigger need then wr.

Well do me a favour and find me another "wr" that fits the mold of this discussion not a QB.

Um

Except I never said either was our best CB?

If I had to pick who our best CB was last year it'd be Josh Thomas

and no not in the sense of "Well we made a best of a bad situation." Josh Thomas played really good corner play last season.

also are you measuring how good a CB is based on how many tackles and pick sixes they have because if so lmfao.

Well why wait for all those miraculous stuff to happen and we sign all this help on the lines whole being 11-13 million over the cap. I'll base my opinion on the here and now.

2. You even say he's raw. And if you watch his film you would see a disturbing trend of balls always reaching his body. That is a sign of he needs to work on his hands. You can talk about all the speed and size. [Like Stephen Hill last year) but it won't help if he can't run or learn routes he never ran before. Or help getting off a jam at the line of scrimmage which all young we have problems with.

And again if Josh Thomas is our best CB. How in the hell is Wr a bigger need then CB?

Just ran through about 20 mock drafts and the split is around 80% DT and 20% WR.

On the DT Sheldon Richardson comes in slightly more often than Hankins.

Because he played solid football and proved he could be a starting corner back in the NFL?

I don't get your point it's not like he got torched week in and week pout like Cap our played soft like Norman.

He played really good corner back but I guess ince he didn't have the most tackles or any ints in your world he's a bad CB.

Lot of mocks had us taking DE or DT last year.

Walterfootball is the only one that had us taking Luke because a source told him we were comfortable with our DTs.

He didn't prove poo are you crazy? You do know Breed still pass for 400 yards that last game? And Matt Ryan had 300+ yards? How about Brady Quinn's Career day did you miss that?
