Interesting to see that we're 9th in Defense, 13th in Offense... and 31st in Special Teams.

Maybe we could invest in that part of the game a little more? Or do you think it matters?

I think it's likely we draft a kicker this April as well as sign some quality special-teamers.

i think hiring bruce dehaven is going to help a lot.

still it needs to be more of a priority. just don't know that the money is going to be there to do much.

Hopkins or Sturgis in the 6th round would be ideal if either will be available

Beason needs to heal in order to justify so much money. I am afraid of using the word injury prone since he's borderline injury prone.

13th in offense is also very deceptively low, we are a total of 60 yards out of 7th which is where we were last year

Yeah, it shouldn't be a shock we suck at special teams. Why don't invest money in it. We spent less on ST than anyone in the NFL

Special Teams play is a reflection of two things, 1) quality special teams coaching and 2) depth. We have had neither for a long, long time. Our best special teams player is most likely either Captain Munnerlyn or Jordan Senn, with Munnerlyn being exhausted by the end of the game from playing constantly on special teams AND on defense.

If we could get depth at CB and make Munnerlyn a full time ST player, we could be looking at someone who is Steve Tasker-esque.

All the cash to 4-3 LB's and RB's.

You know, cause it's 1978.

Yup. Easy positions to draft, and easy positions to show stats to back up draft position and $$$ spent.

Hurney was too scared to go after the players with higher bust rates, but also help teams win in todays NFL.
