Are you sure they aren't saying it will grow to 2 million by 2015. I think that makes more sense.

That makes more sense. No way the area could handle 2 million new people moving into the region. Plus there wouldnt be enough jobs for everyone.
While on the subject why is Greensboro and Winston Salem in two different MSA but Charlotte has 17 counties? Its called the Triad for a reason. Combined it would be close to 1.2 million people. Same thing with Raleigh/Cary Durham/Chapel Hill they would be at 1.5. Throw in Burlington and thats another 150,000 people.

I rewound it after i heard it and Balderes said 2 million new people. It had to be a mis speak.
