Johnson is a solid player and a very realistic option.
I just think he's more of a "potential" player than a "safe" pick. If it is between him and a better all around player when we select, it will be the BPA.
I agree to an extend, B'wood, but if there is a need at a few positions, LT and QB come to mind, the first round is about potential over BPA.
However, in this case, you could argue that we have a LT.
However, you could also argue that people should draft for known long-term needs--1 year contracts and free agency are best for quick fixes.
I dunno. It all depends on perspective. I see Johnson as an upgrade at RT for a year and a long term solution to fill a need at LT. LTs are rarer than CBs and DTs.
We shall see. I am not opposed to other options than T.
