I think OG is the most cost-effective FA position to find talent at. We made a mistake with Hangman but I think Gettleman can find a suitable replacement after eeking out some cap space. Concerning OT, it all depends on what happens to Gross in the coming weeks or so.

you almost have to take him if he's available. Let's say we continue to improve in the win column over the next 3
years.....drafting at 14 may be and should be the highest we're going to see until the post-Cam era.

You feel comfortable taking at LT at 24 or 25?

I think we better get while the gettings good. Not to mention the need to protect Cam should be our highest priority.

Finally, I like the idea of him playing right tackle next year, and learning from Gross.

Johnson is a solid player and a very realistic option.

I just think he's more of a "potential" player than a "safe" pick. If it is between him and a better all around player when we select, it will be the BPA.

I agree to an extend, B'wood, but if there is a need at a few positions, LT and QB come to mind, the first round is about potential over BPA.

However, in this case, you could argue that we have a LT.

However, you could also argue that people should draft for known long-term needs--1 year contracts and free agency are best for quick fixes.

I dunno. It all depends on perspective. I see Johnson as an upgrade at RT for a year and a long term solution to fill a need at LT. LTs are rarer than CBs and DTs.

We shall see. I am not opposed to other options than T.

With Gross's cap and age it has to be a consideration.This is one of those positions you cannot to miss at if we will be replacing Gross

This is my fear as well. Kid is probably gonna test off the charts at the combine and be off the board when we pick.

I'm sorry, I just feel like Lane Johnson is a poor man's Eric Fisher...not sold on him as our first pick yet...but then again I remember thinking the same way about Fisher before the Senior Bowl. I'm looking forward to seeing LJ at the combine.
