Tony's Pizza in Huntersville

50 posts in this topic

My favorite pizza place. Just wanted to show this fine establishment some love. If you're in the area (MtHolly-Huntersville Rd) you should check it out.

Huntersville/Cornelius isn't lacking great pizza options. Mama's Pizza & Prosciuttos are also good.

But Tony's is the best. I love thin, NY style pepperoni pizza.

My parents live in the Cotswold area and there really isn't a good pizza place over there. Pizza Peel is alright. They usually drive up to Juliana Pizza.

There is one in a shopping complex at 49 and Arrowood and there is one down at the intersection of 160 and 49 on way to Buster Boyd Bridge over Lake Wylie.

Dude has won best pizza in Charlotte for a few years running.

that is nowhere near me. Pizza isn't the type of food that's worthy of a specia trip.

I used to hang out with a lot of kids in the Matthews area during HS and used to ball at the siskey YMCA. Mario's Pizza across the street from the Y is good. Those matthews people I know never shutup about that place.

Also, this place isn't a "real" pizza place, but at UNCC there is a place called Toppers Pizza. It's pretty damn good. The baked potato "pizza" is one of my favorite pizzas ever. It's something I would consider ordering as a last meal lol. extra sour cream baby!

If you drive all the way over to Juliana for pizza, there's a tony's right across the street basically at galleria and monroe. It's easily the best pizza in that area.

Tony's and Luigi's are very similar.

Prosciuttos

Agreed.

We also go to Fuel which I think is fine but pizza purists don't seem to like it.

Tony's is like a 20 min drive from where we are in Davidson but I will have to try it.

    • Could be. Hope to be.  I see the big time potential in both. In my opinion-The biggest obstical I see (not only with them but in many young players) is their self confidence. Taking it from "flashing" to "breaking out" or "to the next level" is an imaginary obstacle that stands in the way of a lot of players with potential. To get over the hump, it can take a play, a game or a season to get their mind right with the confidence that they can perform at another level.  KB and Funch have good coaching and all the skills necessary to be the guy, but in the end, they are human too. Most won't admit but the majority of people perform in a "fake it till you make it" environment so to speak.   Lack of confidence or conversely, proving to yourself you can do it, is not only important to the average Joe like you and I but to them as well.  Some guys get over the hump and exceed their own expectations enough to where it becomes standard practice. Others never quite get that bit of confidence or courage to take it one step above their self imposed ceiling.  Im optimistic so I think these two guys can break through. We will certainly have a good read on their direction this season.  PS- Did I use enough quotations?
