He went to camp with the Bengals but they didn't keep him.

Thought Fox might give him a shot in Denver since he liked him so much here, but nope.

Grass grows faster than Nick Hayden's 40 time. And they used to time me with a sun dial, so I know a thing or two about slow.

I remember Carstens. He was pretty good, but a health condition forced him out.

Always hated that we lost him.

Yep, Carstens was a solid DT. Didn't he have a heart issue or something like that? Hope he's doing okay these days.

Yeah Carstens had the heart thing. I don't remember the details anymore but he was arguably our best DT in 2005 when Jenkins was out and Buckner was showing his age.

Actually Carstens retired because of a kidney related disease. He couldn't afford to take hits and potentially ruin his kidneys.
